Trip - (Part 5) Time for the First Ride

We were already standing at the Main Street Train Station, and had planned in advance to make the train our first ride at the park. Besides, what better way would there be to go on a grand circle tour before we ventured in?

We stood there for only a few minutes (and with a small handful of others) before the train made it's way into the station. Before we knew it, we were off - whipping past trees on our right, and looking out into Bay Lake at our left. There really wasn't much else to see along the way, but as we passed through the backside of the Jungle Cruise we could hear the sounds of birds, monkeys, and elephants.

It seemed like a long ride before we reached the Frontierland Station, which was nestled in right next to Splash Mountain. We couldn't really get a good glimpse of anything outside of this station, but we continued to look around at the new unfamiliar territory.

Our train left about two minutes later, and we curved around the backside of Big Thunder Mountain. We jumped for joy as we saw something completely new and unexpected. Behind Big Thunder Mountain was a scene featuring a man whose wagon is caught in a flooded stream. The side of the wagon states that he is Professor Cumulus Isobar - Rainmaker Extraordinare. He's frantically scooping up water with his bucket in order to free his wagon. Floating nearby is a man laying in a tub and wearing long johns.

Also in the scene were barking boars, a bobcat balancing on top of a leaning cactus, goats, snakes, a roadrunner, and...just too much to take in as we were caught off guard by it all. "We'll be riding this later," we both agreed excitingly.

Our train continued on, going through the wilderness surrounding the Rivers of America, until we reached Toontown station. We sat at the station looking out into a lonesome Toontown Fair. It appeared to be a quaint neighborhood full of cartoon houses.

Again we left, passing the Tomorrowland Indy Speedway, as well as a few wooden cut-outs of the Queen of Hearts guards from Alice in Wonderland. Almost as quickly as the train ride began, we were back at the Main Street Station. This was going to be overwhelming - this park is huge. Can we cover everything AND not wear out our shoes and feet? Stay tuned.
