From there we jumped right onto Peter Pan's Flight. Now, this is usually one of the longest rides in the park, but since everyone was distracted by fireworks, it was probably the best time to ride it. Another factor in wait time is that the ride vehicle (hanging pirate ships) are actually Omnimovers like those in the Haunted Mansion, in that they continually rotate without stopping. This version of the ride gets bogged down at the loading area at Disneyland, where each vehicle has to pull up, stop, be loaded, cleared for safety, and then takes off.

We exited the ride and went next door to a brand new ride for us: Mickey's PhilharMagic. I wasn't sure what to expect, and all I knew was that it was a 3D movie featuring Donald Duck.

The 3D show starts with Minnie announcing that maestro Mickey and the orchestra will begin soon. Mickey is shown on screen with Donald, and Mickey leaves his magic sorcerer hat (from Fantasia) alone with Donald warning him to not touch it. Of course, Donald's in a hurry to prepare the orchestra, and attempts to use Mickey's hat in order to speed things up. Bad idea - as Donald soon finds out. In the end, Mickey's PhilharMagic was a delightful surprise. Seeing Donald thrown into the middle some of Disney's classic musical moments was a great and different way to see these films. It's a shame Disneyland doesn't have this yet.

By this point Fantasyland was flooded with water for some reason. Cast members were scrambling around to try and deter guests from walking in certain spots, and others were frantically trying to sweep water into nearby storm drains. We never figured out what really happened, but whatever it was got resolved by the next day.

Our next, and final stop for the night, was Snow White's Scary Adventures. Now, this was one ride we were BOTH looking forward to for some time. Snow White is Ana's favorite Disney movie, and I've always enjoyed the low-budget Fantasyland rides. About a year and a half ago, we sat together and watched a ride video of the Magic Kingdom's version of the Snow White ride. And together we were both anxious to ride it. It's more elaborate, and tells a more engaging, straightforward story. By the end of it, you literally feel as though you sat through the entire film, and even if you hadn't seen it you understand what happened.

It was 10pm and we were tired. They were opened for a few hours still, and we had only been there for 3 hours so far, but we just had no energy. Besides, we needed some energy for tomorrow! We decided to leave Fantasyland by walking through the castle - which we hadn't done up until that point. We didn't know that this would be our only chance to walk through it, and that it would be closed the following day. So, I only got one picture of us walking through it - sadly too, because the inside of the archway was decorated with huge stained glass windows that told the story of Cinderella.

I've never really like the movie, but it was a spectacle to see. I was, however, able to get a few shots of Cinderella's castle from the outside though.

As we walked out of the park, we turned around and took one last look. I couldn't wait to be back tomorrow and see everything with the sun out. It was really difficult to see anything that first night, but it was romantic and relaxing.

We got back to the Pop Century hotel, headed to the food court, and had a late dinner. By the way, their mini-pizzas were great and cheap - I had a few of those during our stay. We sat there eating, and the two of us talked like kids about how tomorrow would go. Would it be packed? Would it be hot? Would it be possible for us to ride most of the rides? How long will our shoes last? Only time could tell.
